Welcome to Belinda Ashton Jewellery

Do you share my love of colour, beads and jewellery? If so, I’m sure you will find something you like here. My designs are bold, simple and stylish and I hope you have fun wearing them. I love using colour and graphic designs and particularly like the work of the artist Bridget Riley.

I make my own beads using polymer clay, so you can be sure each piece is something unique. I like to make jewellery you can buy for yourself without feeling guilty. I don’t use precious metals or gemstones to keep my work affordable, however I can make items with sterling silver or hypoallergenic niobium findings by special request.

No two pieces are quite the same. I love to experiment and explore new techniques and colour combinations, so there is often something new to see. If you don’t see exactly what you want on my website, or perhaps you want something to match an outfit, let me know.

Perfect for Spring or Autumn Days

This is a lightweight, delicate looking necklace that is perfect for the Spring or Autumn season. The necklace is made from individually colour mixed shades of polymer clay which is thinly rolled and cut into leaf shapes and marked with leaf veins.

The Spring version has 23 leaves altogether in one size. The leaves are threaded onto strong, flexible beading wire withglass d beads in shades of green and yellow added between the polymer clay leaves. Each side of the leaves are textured as shown. The necklace is 61cm long and is fastened with a silver plated toggle clasp.

The Autumn version has 20 leaves altogether in 3 graduated sizes. The leaves are threaded onto strong, flexible beading wire with tiny brown wood beads added between the polymer clay beads. Each side of the necklace is different as shown by the 2 photographs. The necklace is 51cm long and is fastened with a bronze magnetic clasp.

Perfect for Autumn Days

This is a lightweight, delicate looking necklace that is perfect for the autumn season. The necklace is made from individually colour mixed shades of translucent polymer clay which is thinly rolled and cut into leaf shapes, marked with leaf veins. There are 32 leaves altogether in 3 graduated sizes. The leaves are threaded onto strong, flexible beading wire with clear seed beads added between the polymer clay beads.

The necklace is 50cm long and is fastened with a gold plated toggle clasp.

These earrings are made from polymer clay with a spider web imprint which is highlighted with paint and then cured, sanded and polished to give a smooth shiny finish. The spider is made using a luminous glow in the dark clay which is highlighted with mica powder giving a metallic look.

Perfect For Halloween

If you are celebrating Halloween this year these are the perfect earrings. The polymer clay used for these earrings is luminous and glows green in the dark as shown by my very bad photograph!

There are 2 ghost designs both with black polymer clay eyes. The more rounded design with the zigzag bottom uses thicker clay and glows brighter; the more angular shape is thinner and is more flexible and crumpled looking.

The rounded design earrings are 4.2cm long and 2.6cm wide; the crumpled design is 5cm long and 2.2cm wide. Both have silver plated fish hooks.

The Colours of An Autumn Garden

You can imagine the sound of fallen leaves scrunching under your feet when you look at these earrings. The polymer clay earrings are made using the Mokume Gane technique where thin layers of coloured clay are distorted and cut into thin slices which are layered onto textured gold colour polymer clay backs to create a beautiful random design. . The back of the earrings are textured as shown.

The teardrop shape is 3.8cm long and 2.2cm wide and the stud is 1.5cm diameter; the round shape is 2.6cm diameter and the stud is 1.5cm diameter; the triangle shape is 3cm long and 1.5cm wide; the oval shape is 4.3cm long and 2cm wide and the stud is 1.5cm diameter; the leaf shape is 3.3cm long and 1.7cm wide.

The earrings have gold coloured fish hooks. The stud earrings have gold plated posts with butterfly fastenings.

These polymer clay earringss are made from polymer clay canes which are sliced and placed onto an earth coloured backing and cured. The back of the earrings are textured as shown. The leaf shape is slightly domed.

The teardrop shape is 3.8cm long and 2.2cm wide; the round shape is 2.6cm diameter and the stud is 1.5cm diameter; the triangle shape is 3cm long and 1.5cm wide; the oval shape is 4.5cm long and 2cm wide; the rectangle shape is 2.2cm long and 1.2cm wide; the leaf shape is 3.3cm long and 1.7cm wide.

The earrings have copper coloured fish hooks. The stud earrings have hypo-allergenic stainless steel posts with rubber back stops.
