Terrazzo Necklace

Terrazzo Necklace
Terrazzo interpretation in polymer clay
Terrazzo originated in 16th Century Italy as a way to reuse stone offcuts - sounds like ancient upcycling to me!
I have reinterpreted the technique here re-using grated chips of already baked polymer clay to add colour to plain, hand rolled polymer clay beads. The black and white necklaces have 17 of these beads which are graduated in size from 1.5cm to 2.1cm in diameter. Plain beads are threaded onto strong beading wire between the polymer clay beads.
The black and white necklaces are 58cm long and is fastened with a lobster clasp.
The camel colour necklace has 15 of these beads which are graduated in size from 1.5cm to 2.1cm in diameter. Plain pale brown lucite beads and small brown clay beads are threaded onto strong beading wire between the polymer clay beads. The necklace is 73cm long and is fastened with a bronze colour lobster clasp.
The long necklace has tube shape beads each 6mm diameter. Plain white glass beads are threaded onto strong beading wire between the polymer clay beads. The necklace is 144cm long, which means it can be worn as a single, double or triple string or even knotted at the front.
Matching earrings are available.
